The Copywriter’s primary responsibility is creating sales and marketing communications for the Canadian and US markets to support our brand, including: catalogues, sales support tools, marketing campaigns, and website content.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Writing, and planning print and web content for internal communications, as well as external communications including sales and marketing
  • Transforming academic or scientific content into inspirational and vibrant content
  • Writing a variety of content in a number of different styles and tones, ensuring consistency of brand voice across all marketing communications
  • Editing your own work and others with impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Researching and identifying the best practices specific to industry and key audience segments
  • Following and recommending additions to AOR’s Content Style Guide for the tone, style and voice
  • Ensuring all content is optimized for SEO search and user experience
  • Brainstorming and conceptualizing new forms of content and communication strategies
  • Updating job related knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments


  • Strong writing skills – need to understand writing for a variety of audiences in print and on web
  • Keen sense of tone of voice and how to write consistently for a brand
  • Able to balance business and marketing needs with user needs for clarity and transparency
  • Creative thinker, relationship builder and self-starter
  • Ability to reprioritize and ask questions to clarify
  • Works well independently and with teams to ensure team goals are met or exceeded
  • Excellent time and project management skills along with an ‘eagle’s eye’ for details
  • Experience ideating and producing influential and creative copy
  • Experience working in the health or consumer packaged goods (CPG) space considered an asset
  • Experience writing for product marketing experience considered an asset
  • Experience with FDA regulations considered an asset
