Coleus forskohlii is a plant native to India. An herb used historically in Ayurvedic medicine, The main active ingredient in Coleus forskohlii is called forskolin. Coleus forskohlii supplementation may increase testosterone and protect against abnormal cell growth and inflammation through forskolin.
Coleus forskohlii has broad spectrum actions due to its ability to directly stimulate key chemical messenger adenylate cyclase. This has been the proposed mechanism of action for thyroid regulation, metabolic management and vasodilation properties and oils from the root are thought to have some antimicrobial properties.
