Coffea canephora
Green coffee beans (GCB) or raw coffee beans, are coffee beans that are not exposed to heat by roasting. Roasting coffee beans can kill much of the chlorogenic acid. Chlorogenic acid from green coffee bean extract supports weight management and has been shown to help in lowering blood pressure.
Chlorogenic acid is a polyphenol found in coffee and black tea with potential antioxidant activities. This important polyphenol works in the body to scavenge free radicals, which can reduce the damage to DNA and may protect against cancer causing substances known as carcinogens.
