Cranberries are native to North America. They are grown on approximately 58,000 acres of farmland across the northern United States, Chile and Canada. Cranberries are considered a superfood due to their high nutrient and antioxidant content. Cranberries contain flavonoids, anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins, catechins and triterpenoids. These are powerful antioxidants that lead to their many benefits in the body.
Cranberry can act as a urinary deodorant by increasing urine acidity that can reduce the activity of certain bacteria that cause the breakdown of chemicals in the urine that produce a pungent odor. Supplementing with cranberry has been shown to help aid recovery and reduce risk of recurrences of urinary tract infections (UTI) and it is safe to take preventatively.
