Cardiovascular effects

Study #1:

In a meta-analysis of cardiac patients, 19 randomized trials compared the cardiovascular effects of 1.0 to 2.7g daily of magnesium orotate compared to placebo. Significant effects of magnesium orotate include decreased risk of exercise intolerance, headaches, dizziness, and cardiac arrhythmias.

Study #2:

Patients with severe CHF given 6g magnesium orotate x 1 month, then 3g for 11 months had a survival rate of 75.7% compared to 51.6% in the placebo group (p<0.05). Symptoms of CHF improved in 38.5% of patients given magnesium orotate but deteriorated in over 50% of patients given placebo.

Study #3:

In a single-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study, 32 patients with cardiac insufficiency in the early postoperative period after having a coronary artery by-pass graft were randomized to treatment with magnesium orotate. The treatment group had an increase in exercise capacity and a reduction in premature ventricular beats.
