Pro GI Repair is a comprehensive formula that includes the shelf-stable probiotic, Bifidobacterium longum (BB536), enzymes to digest allergenic proteins, L-glutamine as fuel for enterocytes, and the calming, healing nutrients, ginger (Zinger officinalis), zinc L-carnosine, and deglycyrrhizinated licorice extract.

Pro GI Repair is formulated to help support intestinal/gastrointestinal health, as well as digestive and immune system health after periods of physical stress. It contains protease enzymes to help digest proteins, and probiotics to promote a favorable gut flora.

Adult Dosage

Take one scoop twice daily or two scoops once daily with food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. For each scoop, mix with 200 ml of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice or similar aqueous beverage). Stir briskly and drink immediately. If you are on antibiotics, take at least two to three hours before or after. For antinausea, take one to one scoop 30 minutes before travel and, then another scoop four hours after or take 2 scoops 30 minutes before travel.


Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have gastrointestinal lesions/ulcers, are taking anticoagulant agents, anti-inflammatory agents, are having surgery, are following a low protein diet, if you have fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, severe abdominal pain or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a health care practitioner for prolonged use. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms (e.g., digestive upset, diarrhea) or bronchitis or cold symptoms occur, worsen, or persist beyond three days. Hypersensitivity/allergy has been known to occur; in which case, discontinue use. Do not use if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g. AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment). This product contains gluten, wheat, and corn, do not use if you have such allergies.

The gastrointestinal lining provides a physical and chemical barrier, protecting the intestinal mucosa from potentially harmful enteric pathogens, endotoxins, and chemicals. Various stresses, bacterial toxins, herbicides such as glyphosate, and inflammatory cytokines can disrupt this balance leading to intestinal barrier breakdown. Prolonged barrier dysfunction allows antigenic translocation and disruption of intestinal immunity which is associated with the development of pathologies such as food sensitivities, IBD, and IBS. Several naturally derived products are effective at repairing this permeability:

 L-glutamine is used as a substrate for DNA and glutathione synthesis to promote proliferation of enterocytes and enhance intestinal tight junction proteins.

Glycyrrhiza glabra contains isoflavonoids and polysaccharides that have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-adhesive properties to protect the mucosal barrier from infection and destruction.

Zinc L-carnosine enhances cellular proliferation and the synthesis of antioxidant enzymes to prevent enterocyte apoptosis and reduce intestinal inflammation.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a well-known anti-inflammatory, modulating COX-2 and NfkB pathways.

Protease enzymes produced from non-pathogenic fungal species Aspergillus niger and A. oryzae can breakdown undigested proteins, specifically gliadin, to reduce antigenic load and inflammation.

Bifidobacteirum longum strain BB536, is shown to enhance butyrate production for colonocyte replication and repair; reduce inflammatory cytokines IL-2 and IFN-y; modulate Th1/Th2 balance; decrease the pathogenicity of gram-negative bacteria, and improve the gut microbiome.
