In a prospective, open-label, parallel group, placebo-controlled study from 2013, 77 patients with elevated LDL and triglyceride levels were randomized to one of four groups: placebo, 10-20 mg rosuvastatin, 1000 mg bergamot alone, and bergamot plus rosuvastatin. Improvements to lipid profiles were enhanced when bergamot was combined with rosuvastatin compared to the group given rosuvastatin alone.
