This study published in 2017 examined the role of ashwagandha (n=25, placebo n=25) in reducing perceived stress and subsequent weight gain in healthy subjects over eight weeks of supplementation. The results indicated statistically significant improvements in both the primary and secondary measures as compared to placebo. Indicating this may be a good option for management of stress.
