From 2020 this comprehensive review aims to compile evidence supporting the therapeutic uses, phytochemical composition, and pharmacokinetics of allicin the main active constituent of crushed A. sativum. While many roles from anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer and more are included in the review, a key focus is on allicin’s effects on dyslipidemia.
