From ophthalmic, arthritic and cancer management, this truly versatile polysaccharide has significant therapeutic potential. Authors specified the crucial role of HA in skin conditions as healing based on anti-inflammatory, proliferative, or re-modeling phases of skin healing process, binding to “CD44 keratinocyte receptors, leading to their differentiation and increasing their motility.” This recent and comprehensive review offers validation for expanding the therapeutic investigations of several different forms and preparations of HA depending on conditions.
