Oral phosphatidylserine was tested in these double blind, placebo controlled, randomized clinical trials from 2014. This article includes two studies (the first to describe use of soy-lecithin derived phosphatidylserine) – the first assessing functioning elderly patients with memory problems for three months, and a second two month trial with elderly patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Overall authors concluded that the two trials demonstrated the potential use of PS in individuals with both mild (and more pronounced in severe) cognitive decline.
