In this randomized, controlled clinical study published in 2013, the researchers wanted to evaluate the effect of AHCC in improving the immune responses of healthy adults to the 2009-2010 influenza vaccine. The results show an increase in natural killer (NK) T cells and CD8(+) cells in the AHCC supplementation group. AHCC supplementation was also shown to significantly improve antibody titers to influenza B, compared to the control group.
