The review outlines evidence supporting use in maintaining tissue integrity and tight junctions in enterocytes, signaling and modulation for the inflammatory pathways, and regulation of cell cycle in stressed cells. 21 g glutamine/day for 28 days for Crohn’s disease, and 42 g/day for 21 days for short bowel syndrome.
