Colostrum is loaded with growth and tissue repair factors namely due to the growth factors that can help repair muscle and cartilage. The growth factors in bovine colostrum have many tissue-regenerative effects that extend to all areas of the body not just in the gut lining. To heal gut and reduce intestinal permeability
Trials have demonstrated that supplementation with bovine colostrum restored intestinal permeability. Although it is not well-known why it can restore permeability, researchers attribute colostrum to downregulating zonulin concentrations leading to decreased permeability. Animal studies have also shown that bovine colostrum was an important preventative supplement in decreasing the damage to the intestinal mucosal lining resulting from nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) use.
