Calcium D Glucarate

Calcium D-glucarate is made by combining glucaric acid with calcium. Calcium is added to glucaric acid to stabilize but once in the body, it separates to calcium and glucaric acid, which is the active ingredient that provides the most benefits. This is not a substantial source of calcium and will not replace the need for a calcium supplement. 

D-glucarate is a phytochemical that supports detoxification and is found naturally in many plants, including cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, kale and bok choy.

Supports detoxification pathways

The body goes through important processes to prepare toxins for elimination. The liver has two steps to process chemicals out of the body. This is called phase 1 and phase 2 liver detox. Calcium D-glucarate stops the enzyme that cleaves the packaged toxins for removal in phase 2.

Supports liver function and regeneration

It uses a process called glucuronidation which is phase 2 liver detoxification. It is important to support this process so that toxins can be eliminated from the body quickly.

Promotes healthy hormone levels

Supplementing with Calcium D-glucarate stops the “snipping” or “cleaving” of packaged spent hormones that are set to leave the body, to avoid them recycling and reabsorbing.

Toxins are removed from the body after being processed by the liver, packaged up in the glucuronidation process and sent out of the body via bowels and kidneys. It is important that the toxins bound up for removal make their way out of the body and are not freed up by enzymes that can send spent hormones and toxins back into circulation. This is where calcium D-glucarate comes in to prevent that.
