Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) is a small thorny tree originally from northwestern Europe. For thousands of years, folk medicine has prescribed hawthorn for a variety of uses. Hawthorn is rich in flavonoids and other compounds which are responsible for its benefits to heart health.
