Potassium aspartate is a combination of mineral potassium and aspartic acid, which is an amino acid. Potassium is necessary for a number of processes throughout the body, including heartbeat regularity and muscle, nerve and kidney function.
The aspartate version of potassium is more effective as it is more quickly absorbed into the bloodstream instead of being excreted by the liver.
