Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a spice commonly used in East Asian curry dishes. Though most of the health-promoting effects are being attributed to the active molecule curcumin – research is shifting to understand the synergy of other components of this powerful root.
Plant-derived polysaccharides are called turmosaccharides or turmacin, and are the water-soluble compounds from turmeric root.
They also help with curcumin bioavailability indicating that taken together, both curcumin and turmacin extracts provide synergistic actions.
