Triphala is a traditional remedy from Ayurveda, the ancient medicine system of India. âTriphalaâ literally means âthree fruitsâ; it is a balanced mixture of the fruits of Emblica officinalis (âAmalakiâ in Hindi), Terminalia belerica (âBiharaâ), and Terminalia chebula (âHaradaâ). No botanical remedy is recommended as often in the Ayurvedic medical texts as triphala.
Triphala is useful in boosting gastrointestinal power, which is required for nutrient absorption and clean up. Harada (Terminalia chebula) possesses laxative, astringent and lubricant properties. Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) has traditionally been used to support the stomach and intestines. Bihara (Terminalia bellerica) reduces excess mucus. Triphlax-750 is a high dose of triphala and benefits those who want a natural and gentle formula to improve digestion, relieve constipation.

Adult dosage
Adults (18 and over) – Take two capsules twice daily with or without food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or health products, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Allow at least six to 12 hours for laxative effect to occur. Do not crush, mix or blend capsules. Swallow capsules whole. Do not exceed daily dose unless instructed by a healthcare practitioner.
Cautions
Do not use if:
⢠pregnant or nursing.
⢠you have abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, potential or existing colon blockage, atonic bowel, appendicitis, inflammatory colon diseases such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, abdominal pain of unknown origin, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, severe dehydration with depleted water or electrolytes or diarrhea.
Consult a health care practitioner before use if:
⢠you are taking thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids, licorice root or other medications or health products which may aggravate electrolyte imbalance.
⢠you have a kidney disorder or are taking cardiac medications such as cardiac glycosides or antiarrhythmic medications.
⢠you have fecal impaction or symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever.
Consult a healthcare practitioner if:Â
⢠symptoms persist or worsen.
⢠for use beyond 7 days.
