Hesperidin is a flavanone glycoside found in citrus fruits. The name is derived from the word “hesperidium”, for fruit produced by citrus trees. Because of its antioxidant properties, hesperidin offers a variety of benefits for good health.

The plant chemical hesperidin is classified as a bioflavonoid that can enhance blood circulation via improving vascular strength and tone as well as capillary flow.
Improves blood flow and circulation
The bioflavonoids found in hesperidin promote relaxation of the arterial walls as they widen and allow for better flow. It can also reduce blood cell stickiness to lower the risk of thick slow blood or clots.
Supports cardiovascular health
Researchers looked at participants between the ages of 18 to 65 years with warning signs of high blood pressure or active diagnosis of high blood pressure. Over 12 weeks it was noted that the top number indicating the maximum heart pressure exerted, called systolic blood pressure, was reduced and showed positive effects on arterial stiffness.
