Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) is a small thorny tree originally from northwestern Europe. For thousands of years, folk medicine has prescribed hawthorn for a variety of ailments, using both the fruits, as well as the flowers and leaves. Hawthorn is rich in flavonoids and other compounds which are responsible for its benefits to heart health.
The components of hawthorn exert their heart-helping actions in a number of ways. Clinical trials with hawthorn have validated some of these beneficial effects on the heart in some adults.

Adult Dosage
Adults (18 years and over) – Take 1 to 2 capsules per day with or without food or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Use for a minimum of 2 months to see beneficial effects. Do not crush, mix or blend capsules. Swallow capsules whole. Do not exceed daily dose unless instructed by a healthcare practitioner.
Cautions
Allergens: Corn.  Â
Consult a health care practitioner before use if you are taking cardiac glycosides such as digitalis or digoxin and blood pressure medication or if symptoms persist or worsen.
